Managing sent referrals

You can monitor and manage all of your sent referrals and referral letters (and all of the clinic’s referrals), or the referrals for a specific patient, from various places and using various tools within Wolf EMR.

Referral List

The Referral List, available from the WorkDesk’s Patient menu enables you to view and manage both your outstanding referrals, and outstanding referrals for the entire clinic. You can find a specific patient’s referrals and then modify referrals as needed. See Managing your referrals using the Referral List.

Referrals for a specific patient

You can view and update a specific patient’s referral information and status within the Referrals tab of their medical summary. See Managing patient referrals from their medical summary.

Referral statuses

You can use the Referral Status to track referral as they make their way through your offices referral workflow. See Managing referral letters.

Letter statuses

If you dictate your letters and have them transcribed, after you start a referral, you can use the letter status to track and manage referral letters at each stage of the process. See Managing referral letters.

Letters to transcribe: If letters were dictated and are ready to transcribe, they appear in this list for front-end staff. See Managing referrals letters that need to be transcribed.

Letters to print: If letters are ready to print and send, they appear on this list for front-end staff. See Managing referral letters that need to be printed or sent.

Referral appointments to be made

If patients are waiting for consult appointments, use referral appointments to be made link on the WorkDesk to track these patients and to indicate that a patient has received a booking date and time for their consult appointment. See Indicating that a patient has received a booking date and time for their consult appointment .

Referral notifications (Patients to Notify list)

Once a patient has a booking date and time for their consult appointment, use the Patients to Notify list to manage patients who need to be notified. See Managing patients who need to be notified of booked appointments.
