External consultants

You can refer patients only to consultants or clinics that are in your clinic’s consultant list. If the consultant you want is not in the consultant’s list or if their information has changed, you can add a new consultant or edit a consultant’s details as you create a referral (see Managing external consultants while initiating a referral). You can also view and edit the list of consultants from the WorkDesk (Reference > Consultant List).

Users with administrator privileges can perform advanced management of external consultants from the Wolf EMR configuration (see Managing consultants from configuration).

Front-end staff can also quickly add an external consultant from the scheduler (Configure menu > New Referral Consultant (Quick Add).

If you refer to a particular consultant regularly, you can identify the consultant as a favourite. You can then quickly select the consultant from your favourite consultants list when you initiate a referral. See Managing your favourite consultants.
