Recording allergies

You can record that a patient has an allergy or intolerance to a:

Specific drug (see Recording drug allergies and intolerances (new prescriber))

Non-drug allergen (see Recording non-drug allergies and intolerances (new prescriber))

Also, if the patient has no know allergies or intolerances, you can record this information in the patient’s chart (see Recording that a patient has no known allergies or intolerances (new prescriber)). If you record that a patient has no know allergies or intolerances, everywhere the patient’s allergies and intolerances are programed to pull (for example, letters, the prenatal form, and requisition forms) the statement “No Known Allergies” populates.
