Setting security preferences
As an administrator, you can change clinic-wide settings for security around logging into Wolf EMR. Settings include:
Wolf EMR password rules.
Frequency in which users must view the EMR Confidentiality Agreement.
Automatic log-off time.
Steps
1. | From the Wolf EMR home page, click Configuration ![]() |
2. | From the Configuration window, click the Runtime Configuration tab. |
3. | Enter or edit information in fields related to system login security using the following table as a reference: |
Field | Description |

Automatic Logoff |
In the *Programs to LOGOFF after field, enter the number of minutes Wolf EMR automatically logs a user off if they have not performed any actions in the system. |
Force ALL Passwords to change every x days |
Enter the number of days after which users are forced to change their password. This option applies only to clinics who do not have single sign-on. |
Disable login after x failed login attempts |
Enter the number of failed login attempts users are allowed before their Wolf EMR account is locked. This option applies only to clinics who do not have single sign-on. |
Reactivate account after x hours |
Enter the number of hours before a user can reactivate their Wolf EMR account after reaching the maximum allowed failed login attempts. This option applies only to clinics who do not have single sign-on. |
Require confidentiality Agreement every x days at login |
Enter the number of days to indicate how frequently you want users to review and acknowledge the confidentiality agreement when logging into Wolf EMR. If you do not want users to have to review the confidentiality agreement regularly, enter 0 or leave the field blank. You can audit which clinic members have viewed the confidentiality agreement and when, by running the Confidentiality Agreement Audit. See Viewing system audit logs. |
