Viewing and editing family history details

You can view a summary of a patient’s problem family history in the Personal Hx tab of the Medical Summery. From here, you can also view family history in the form of a family tree chart. When you double-click a family history item, you can view a complete history of all problems for the selected family member. You can also modify or delete any of the family member’s problems.

Steps

1.

Open the patient’s medical summary (see Opening the medical summary).

Click the Personal Hx tab. The Family History area lists the patient’s family member’s problems.

To view a patient’s family history in the form of a family tree chart, above the Family History area, click ...View Family Tree. The Problem Family History Tree window opens. You add patient relations in Patient Maintenance.

To view or edit detailed information for a family member’s problem(s), in the Family History area of the medical summary or in the Problem Family History Tree window, double-click a family history entry. The EMR opens the Family History Records window, and displays details of the selected family member’s medical history, including:

A list of their problems

Age of onset

Date of birth

Date of death

Other notes entered for the family member

In the Problems area, click the problem you want to view or edit details for.

Edit the fields as required.

7.

To delete the problem from the family member’s history, click Delete Record .

8.

When you are done, click .
