Verifying patient PHNs with MSP
You can verify the patient's PHN with Medical Services Plan (MSP) BC to ensure payment for the services provided to the patient.
Step
Complete one of the following actions:
In the upper left corner of the Patient Maintenance window, click Verify with MSP .
In the list of patient search results, select the patient, and click Verify with MSP.
In the appointment scheduler, right-click the patient appointment (or when you mark an appointment ar arrived), click Verify with MSP.
If the validation passes
There is no need to verify the patient’s PHN again during the same calendar month.
The date and time that the patient's PHN was last successfully verified are displayed (as read-only) in Patient Maintenance (on the Other Demographics tab, Provincial Payment Coverage > Coverage Last Checked field).
If validation fails
The EMR displays an error message that indicates why.
If an error is displayed
Arrange an alternate form of payment from the patient (for example, cash or credit card), and advise the patient to obtain or verify their MSP coverage.
